
NCWD/Youth’s work in the area of education includes promoting practices and policies that increase access for all youth, including youth with disabilities, to a high quality secondary education and clear pathways into and through postsecondary education. The Guideposts for Success on School-based Preparatory Experiences outline critical factors for ensuring youth’s educational success throughout the secondary school years. NCWD/Youth’s Research and Demonstration Project on Individualized Learning Plans provides lessons and resources for using individualized learning plans starting as early as middle school to help personalize learning and increase college and career readiness for all youth.
