Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD)

AUCD is funded by a variety of federal agencies.

California Workforce Association (CWA)

Employment and Training Administration (ETA), Disability and Workforce Programs

The Disability and Workforce Programs (DDWP) division of the US Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration develops and implements disability policy and program initiatives related to the workforce system, including a cross-agency collaboration to address structural barriers to employment for individuals with disabilities. DDWP supports the New Freedom Initiative to improve career and employment outcomes for people with disabilities through innovative skill training and systems change grant activities.

Employment and Training Administration (ETA), US Department of Labor

The ETA builds the labor market through the training of the workforce and the placement of workers in jobs through employment services. The web site is designed to direct adults, youth, dislocated workers, and workforce development professionals to information on these programs and services.

The Family Center serves organizations and programs that work with families of children and youth with disabilities, offering a range of information and services on the subject of assistive technology.

Family Guide from SAMHSA (The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration)

This Web Site offers adults who influence the lives of children ages 7 to 18 --parents, foster parents, grandparents, extended family members, guardians, and mentors--suggestions for better communication with children, as well as other tips that aid in prevention and promote mental health. Features include a mental health dictionary and drug-related facts and information.

Federal Commons

Federal Commons is an information portal for the grantee organization community. It is intended to be a resource to find Federal grant-related information. This portal will become a common face of the government, offering all grantees (state and local governments, universities, small businesses, etc.) full service grants processing across all functions in the grant life cycle. Legal Rights for College Students with Learning Disabilities

SchwabLearning.org interviewed civil rights attorney Paul Grossman. His legal work on behalf of students with disabilities — including learning disabilities (LD) — spans nearly three decades. Mr. Grossman assigns much of his commitment to civil rights to his educational experiences as an individual with LD. Mr. Grossman graduated high school as a remedial reader, left college because he could not pass Spanish, and returned, finally graduating near the top of his law school class.

Mobility International USA (MIUSA) and National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE)

The National Business & Disability Council (NBDC) is a resource for employers seeking to integrate people with disabilities into the workplace and companies seeking to reach them in the consumer marketplace. The NBDC Yellow Pages contain a large section on a wide variety of disability issues from employment, statistics, and accessibility issues to contact information for local and national employment agencies.

National Center for the Dissemination of Disability Research (NCDDR)

National Center on Secondary Education & Transition (NCSET), University of Minnesota

National Clearinghouse on Families and Youth

Web site contains information to help professionals who work with young people and their families, especially those youth growing up in difficult or disadvantaged circumstances (Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families).

National Collaboration for Youth (NCY)

The National Collaboration for Youth (NCY), a 40-year old affinity group, is a coalition of the National Assembly member organizations that have a significant interest in youth development. Members of NCY include more than 50 national, non-profit, youth development organizations that collectively serve more than 40 million young people; employ over 100,000 paid staff; utilize more than six million volunteers; and have a physical presence in virtually every community in America.

National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth)

The National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth) assists state and local workforce development systems to better serve all youth, including youth with disabilities and other vulnerable youth. The NCWD/Youth, created in 2001, is composed of partners with expertise in education, youth development, disability, employment, workforce development and family issues. Funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), the NCWD/Youth is housed at the Institute for Educational Leadership in Washington, D.C.

National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL)

The NCSL provides research, meetings, testimony and publications to NCSL members to strengthen various state initiatives aimed at implementing the Workforce Investment Act, No Child Left Behind Act, Medicaid Buy-In options and Olmstead plans.

National Consortium on Leadership and Disability for Youth (NCLD/Youth)

The National Consortium on Leadership and Disability for Youth (NCLD/) serves as a national youth-led information, training, and resource center. NCLD/Y has a four-pronged focus on working on developing leaders, developing the capacity of centers for independent living to serve those leaders, the capacity of the staff working directly with the leaders, and supporting the cadre of youth with disabilities-related organizations.

National Dissemination Center for Career and Technical Education (NDCCTE)

NGA Center for Best Practices helps Governors and their key policy staff develop and implements innovative solutions to governance and policy. National Technical Assistance Center for State Mental Health Planning (NTAC)

NTAC's mission includes assisting its core constituents to bring about long-lasting improvements in the design, delivery and evaluation of mental health services; foster consumer recovery and independence through consumer-centered services; and prepare for the future of public mental health care.

National Youth Development Information Center (NYDIC)

National Youth Development Information Center is a one-stop website for youth workers with interest in any and all of the following areas: funding, programming, research, policy, job and training opportunities. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) National Mental Health Information Center

National Mental Health Information Center provides information about mental health for users of mental health services and their families, the general public, policy makers, providers, and the media. YouthBuild USA

YouthBuild is a youth and community development program that simultaneously addresses core issues facing low-income communities: housing, education, employment, crime prevention, and leadership development.
