The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) released its #ApprenticeshipWorks Guides for Youth, Educators/Service Providers, and Business. The guides introduce these three stakeholder groups to the benefits of inclusive apprenticeship opportunities that support full access for people with disabilities. ODEP’s blog this month also features a post on apprenticeships and disability titled Apprenticeship and the American Dream. This post examines numerous advantages of apprenticeships in the modern economy for both employers and job seekers, including people with disabilities. The focus on apprenticeship as a strategy for connecting job seekers with skills they need to secure good jobs aligns with the 2017 Executive Order on Expanding Apprenticeships in America.
