Each year on May 4, SAMHSA coordinates National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day in order to raise awareness about the importance of young people’s mental health and to show that positive mental health is essential to a youth’s healthy development. This year’s theme, “Partnering for Help and Hope,” using the hashtag #HeroesOfHope focused on the importance of integrating behavioral health and primary care for children, youth, and young adults with mental and/or substance use disorders. SAMHSA’s National Resource Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention has released a module series with interactive, self-paced training on comprehensive and evidence-based school mental health program implementation.
