Annotation |
This article reviews 37 studies on employer attitudes toward workers with disabilities published between 1987 and 1999. Findings included a) positive general attitudes towards workers with disabilities but more negative attitudes based on specific concerns such as promotability, the cost of accommodations, and work-related skills, and b) variation in attitudes based on the type of disability. Additional research on the abilities of workers with disabilities is suggested. |
