Step 3: Discover Innovative Strategies
What does research and practice tell us that works? What programs and practices have proven results?
All of NCWD/Youth’s materials are based on evidence—either research studies or programs and practices with proven results. To assist policymakers and practitioners, NCWD/Youth in their quest to better serve youth and employers, NCWD/Youth has created Pro-Bank, an ever increasing database of results-based, high-quality programs and services.
Introduction to Pro-Bank
NCWD/Youth's Pro-Bank features workforce development programs that serve youth with disabilities, either as a target population or as part of other youth populations. Its purpose is to improve services to youth with disabilities throughout the workforce system by making available information on practices that are used in quality workforce development programs. To be included, programs must meet the following basic criteria:
- A proven record of success, as validated by an outside source;
- Awareness and attention to serving youth with disabilities;
- Workforce development programs that are based on principles of youth development;
- Services that can be tailored to meet individual needs.
For every program, basic contact information, a brief program description, an overview of the population served, and information on outcomes (qualitative or quantitative) are provided. Program practices are organized around the following categories:
Pro-Bank programs generally have practices that are featured under more than one, but not all, categories. Information may be accessed by program type, geographic location, and by the categories listed above. Click here to begin exploring Pro-Bank.
